Trip to Antigua
In January 2015 I, Sam Congdon, took a trip to Antigua in the West Indies. I have been to Antigua on several other occasions and had an excellent time during this trip was no different. I went with my son and we both had a lot of fun playing on the beach, taking boat rides and snorkeling with fish and stingrays.
We arrived on a Thursday and spent most of the day going in the pool at the resort and playing on the beach. We stayed at the Jolly Beach Resort, which I have stayed at once before. It is a very good resort in Antigua on one of the nicest beaches there.
On Saturday we took a tour where we got to drive little dingy boats out on the open ocean and go snorkeling on a reef that was a mile or two away from the hotel. That was great because my son got to drive the boat, which he thoroughly enjoyed, and then the snorkeling was really good. We got to see schools of fish and he even saw a sea anemone. After we were done snorkeling we got to spend more time driving the boats around to a couple of different harbors. And that was a great time as well.

The next day on Sunday we took a tour on a large powerboat that went all the way around the island. We stopped at stingray city and snuggled with stingrays that are about 5 feet across. We also had lunch on a small island off the coast of Antigua called Green Island. We got to see some other islands and landmarks as well. We went to a beach called Rendezvous Beach. It was on the opposite side of the island from our resort. The waves were large and so one of the crew members showed my son how to body surf, and that was a lot of fun to see and watch.
Lastly we also saw a number of excellent sunsets and took a lot of pictures.
